My birthday celebrations ended up being 2 days long! Dwight took a half-day on Tuesday & we went out to eat for lunch. He took me to this “create your own stir-fry” place in town that I’ve never been to yet & it was really good! Then we got to just spend a couple hours together before the kids came home from school. Later that evening, Dwight took the kids to a pet store to pick out some new fish for my fish tank. They got me some male guppies – each of them picked one out – it was so cute! Then we all took Bailey to the dog park where the Humane Society was having a reunion for all the dogs that were adopted in the last year. That was really fun – Bailey was wiped out!

On my Birthday, Wednesday, I went in for my “Pre-Employment Test”, which ended up being 4 different tests lasting 2 hours! I think I did pretty good – at least all this blogging has kept me up to speed on my typing! I should hear back from the company in about a week! I took bailey for a walk around the lake, but otherwise I didn’t do too much else. Dwight got out of work a little bit early & we needed to get some food, so we went to WalMart together & laughed, because who wants to go shopping at WalMart on their Birthday??? But we had our Small Group last night & then I wanted to spend time with Dwight, so there wasn’t any other time to go.

Finally, last night after the kids went to bed, Dwight bought a bottle of wine & we sat on the couch & watched “Lost’ – it was a recap of the past 2 seasons because the new season starts next week! Yeah!!! Anyway, it was a very nice, quiet couple of days. In the past, I would have wanted a big celebration & lots of attention, but this year I was happy to just have a few people remember me. I did get some nice e-cards & my best friend even had this gorgeous lanyard-holder made for me! It’s made of purple beads & will hold my ID at my new place of employment (I think her confidence in me that I will get the job was almost as nice as the gift!!!)

However, I have to give props to GOD for giving me the best gift yesterday! While I was walking Bailey around the “lake” (it’s really more like a pond, but it’s called a lake!) I got really close to a big, beautiful blue heron. It took off from the water right in front of me. I thanked God for letting me see that because of how much I like birds, but then I asked Him if He could send me a hawk for my Birthday. Well, I didn’t see one…….until I was driving home from the kids’ school. I was almost home & this big hawk flew overhead right in front of my van & into someone’s backyard! THAT was awesome! And a reminder that my God is personally involved in my life & that He cares enough to send the very best!
