Thanks for the kind comments from yesterday’s post. I try not to talk too much about the past so that I can ‘move on’, but sometimes things happen & the past is brought back to me. Dwight & I had a hard week. There were some BIG misunderstandings. Past doubts & fears were re-lived. Sometimes it’s 2 steps forward & 1 step back. I HATE stepping back!!! But after some good conversation, we are back to moving forward again. We used to hold things in for months at a time before dealing with them, but I think we’ve gotten that down to weeks at a time. Not ideal, but it’s progress!!! Anyway……

We’re going on a canoe trip as a last HURRAH before school starts next week. Both kids will be with us, along with 2 other couples & their kids. I’m really looking forward to it. I’m really hoping that the canoe company will let all 4 of us ride in the same canoe because I’m really dreading being in a canoe alone with just 1 of my kids. I don’t think I want to shoulder all that work by myself, along with the responsibility. But I know the kids will love it even more than I do. They’ll be out in nature & possibly bringing some of it back with them too!!! I’m mostly looking forward to Dwight & I creating memories for our kids. Family memories. Memories with our friends & all the kids too.

Last night Dwight rented ‘Catch & Release’ (for me, cuz it’s a chick-flick) and I liked it, even though Dwight fell asleep half-way through it! I just like Jennifer Garner SO much. I miss ‘Alias’ & I LOVED ‘13 Going On 30′. She can do no wrong. (OK – So I haven’t seen ‘Electra’ yet!!!) Anyway….the theme to this movie is “Life is messy. Love is messier.” Isn’t that the truth!!!!!

I’ve had that on my queue forever but keep pushing it farther down on the list. Maybe I’ll get it next week.

Oh wow! Have fun. It sounds great but I’m kinda afraid of water so I doubt I ever go on a canoe trip. ‘
When does school start? Ours starts Tuesday (cue Hallelujah Chorus now).

Have a great canoe trip! That sounds like a great “last blast” before school. And, if you are in a canoe with one of your kids you will do fine. It’s kinda fun once you get the hang of it! And just think about those muscles getting buff. :)
