“Closing time, every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” (Matchbox 20)
I am beginning a new chapter of my life. My life as a “Stay-At-Home Mom” ends this Thursday, as I begin at my NEW job. Granted, I worked a few hours for my friend at her store last year, but I didn’t have to interview for that one & it was only working a handful of hours per week. My new job will be between 25-30 hours per week and I might work up to 40 hours next Summer. While I am sad that my Summers will look totally different, and I’ll miss spending some of that time with my kids, I just feel like this is the “right” move for me & for my family too.
Besides that, I get to work for a Christian employer, have a business casual/casual dress code, a schedule that allows me time to drop off my kids in the morning & be home for them after school, and good pay. What more could I ask for?
So………I’m going to be a leasing agent for an aprtment management company in town. Mostly I’ll be helping with applications for family apartments, and other various paperwork & phone duties, but I may even occasionally show an apartment! Because of this, I will need to take some classes/tests & get licensed! This is both scary & exciting for me. Actually, the whole idea of me working again is scary & exciting, but I know that anything new is gonna feel that way in the beginning.
I’ll try to keep up on blogs when I can, mostly in the evenings, but I won’t be such a visible presence anymore & my posts may be sporatic. Just know that my “blog family” will still be a part of my life – you guys can’t get rid of me if you tried!!!!
So, I’m closing out the Summer with some great memories: a trip to North Carolina, fun at the Fair, our Canoe Trip, along with several other times spent with family & friends. It might be closing time on my Summer, but I’m definately looking forward to a New Beginning!!!
Congratulations, your job sounds very exciting. You’ll be helping lots of people and having flexible hours is great.
Sounds like a great job for you. I’ll be praying that the transition goes smoothly for you and your family. Happy New Beginning!
Oh Wow! Congratulations and Good Luck.
You’ll do great!
Just wanted to say…
“Change isn’t permanent, but change is.”
from the only other female Rush fan in the world…
Oops — Changes aren’t permanent…you knew what I meant!
I know you will be great! I think I would like to go back to work someday.
