Quirks

Posted by: beaner927 on: October 8, 2007

My friend, Maude, recently posted some of her ‘quirks’ and I thought it was so funny that I decided to steal her idea & post more of them here.

1. You know those plastic things that keep six-packs of soda cans stuck together? Well, I can’t throw those away without cutting every one of them to bits. I just can’t stand the thought of some poor duck or bird getting one stuck around it’s neck.

2. I like to peel labels from my drinks, whether it’s a beer bottle or a bottle of Gatorade – if it’s got a label, I’ll peel it off.

3. I doodle arrows. Some people doodle circular shapes & some people doodle straight-lined shapes. I do the latter, but mostly triangle & arrows. Don’t know what that says about me, but feel free to comment about it!

4. I think I’ve mentioned this before, but all my clothes have to face the same way on the hanger – the hook goes to the left. All my clothes face the same way in the closet.

5. As I mentioned on Maude’s blog, I, too, love to run out to the mailbox as soon as the mailman leaves. I guess I always think I’m going to get a surprise check in the mail or some inheritance from some unknown dead relative.

6. I’m “one of those people” who reads the obituaries every day. Part of me is obsessed with death & how people die, and the other part of me is interested in how people lived.

7. I’m not a germ-a-phobe, but I can’t stand the thought of backwash, even if it’s my own. Gross.

8. I don’t go out in public w/o make-up on. Even if I have to run to the store for 1 thing & it’s 5:30 A.M. and I haven’t taken a shower yet – I still have to put make-up on.

And just to make this MORE interesting – I’m gonna tell one of my husband’s quirks: whenever we are driving across state lines, he lifts up his feet as we go over so he doesn’t “trip” over the state line. It cracks me up that he is 37 years old & he STILL does this!

You know what they say about girls that peel the label… :)

I thought everyone did #4….

I gladly leave the house without make-up….frequently!

I’m lucky if my clean clothes make it on to the hanger. I have gone many a week without putting freshly laundered clothes in their rightful spot.

I like to have a completely empty bathroom counter. Everything including toothbrushes go in a drawer or cabinet.

The opposite is true for our kitchen, dirty dishes can sit for days on the counter, before they get put in the dishwasher.

And I’ve gone several days without checking my mailbox, no millionaire dreams, just bills.
